| 2003 AWARD |
A new record number of
songs competed in this third edition of the Eurodanceweb Award: 33
entries. Among them, three newcomers entered the contest:
Bulgaria, Hungary and Iceland.
After two Eastern european winners, the Eurodanceweb trophy moved West
thanks to the Belgian singer Jessy and her trance song entitled "Regardez-moi".
This was a French version of her first international hit "Look @ me now",
that topped the dance charts in many parts of the World.
Norway was represented the Nation's biggest dance hit of the year: "Bli
hos meg" (Stay with me), performed by Dina, a young girl who then
released other singles which charted very well in her homeland. Her
tender and lovely voice, mixed with the energetic and groovy trance
beats of this song, made her one of the jury's big favourites and
brought her to the second place.
Just 4 points behind Dina, the German dance act Groove Coverage finished
in third position with "The End". The song was released after the
incredible big popularity of "God is a girl", which was very successful
not only in Europe, but also in China.
This edition featured some artists from Eastern Europe, who then became
internationally popular. Among them, the Croatian group Karma, that then
climbed the Czech, Slovak and Italian charts,
the Czech Group Verona and the Hungarian duo Naksi vs. Brunner.
The media interest on the competition grew: web sites from all over
Europe covered the event and published news about the final results.
